Do I get a prize?But seriously (*Phil Collins face*) I was disappointed to read this week that the Sussex Bonfire Societies failed to secure UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status for the county-wide tradition of having massive bonfires (replete with age-old and more topical effigies) and, erm, being a bit dangerous in the process.
For once I can say with a straight face "it's health and safety gone mad" :( I hope the Bonfire Societies persist. As the old saying goes: "Sussex won't be druv".
